Keep Your Home From Foreclosure

6:10 am Business

I recently read that foreclosure rates in Tennessee are either the first or second highest in the nation.  Mortgage companies do not need to go to court prior to foreclosing – the laws in TN allow for non-judicial foreclosure.

There are a number of helpful web sites that discuss foreclosure options in general, but relatively few that talk about foreclosure issues in Tennessee.  One law firm – Clark and Washington – does have good material about stopping mortgage foreclosure in Tennessee.  According to their web site, a Chapter 13 bankruptcy will stop foreclosure in most cases.

Obviously, bankruptcy is and should be a last resort and anyone facing financial problems should consider any available non-bankruptcy option.
