Why I micro-manage all my projects now

7:11 pm Business

I’ve been in the project management consulting field for over 25 years now, and if it’s one thing that I have learned is this: I need to keep constantly on top of it every detail relating to the completion of my projects — even the smallest detail can sometimes take on tremendous importance if it develops into a problem or issue. For example: if you need to schedule the moving of computer equipment into a department, you need to make sure that there will be no building fire alarm tests during that day, as that will surely result in the shutting down of the elevators — and that will curtail any travel between floors. It’s details like this that can make or break any project — are you on top of everything, or just guessing?
