Acne Treatments – How Makeup Affects Breakouts
June 27, 2009 8:10 pm HealthAcne is basically caused by heredity, as it tends to run in families. However, there are some situations, which can make this genetic disorder worse like stress, environmental elements such as free radicals and dirt, seasonal changes and most important make-up. While there are many options for treating acne, the best acne treatments can differ on a per individual basis and sometimes prevention can be the best treatment option of all.Check your make-up and make sure it is not an oil-based product. Oil is the culprit that often leads to acne breakouts. Also check all your cosmetic products for D & C red dyes, laureth-4, sodium lauryl sulfate, lanolin, and isopropyl myristate, as these ingredients can aggravate acne symptoms. Also, make sure to squeeze blackheads to get rid of them. The material inside a blackhead pore is solid and needs to be removed in order to unblock the pore.If you are having problems with acne, try using less make-up and go for the natural look, or cut the make-up out all together. At least try giving your face a break, and days you are home and do not need to go out, leave the make-up off.
