To begin with, stretch marks have been linked with various causes that include pregnancy, rapid weight gain or rapid weight loss and dry skin. If you have stretch marks, you can worsen it by not taking adequate care of your skin; instead, purchase and use an anti stretch mark cream or lotion that is designed to take care of stretch marks. In pregnant women, stretch marks are called striae gravidarum and occur when the skin is stretched because of the deposition of fat in the body as the pregnancy advances. Among the various alternative treatments for stretch marks is Aloe Vera gel which is extracted from the plant Aloe vera; this plant is common enough and can even be grown in your backyard garden where you can simply cut it off and apply to the affected areas of your body.
