I’ve been looking for some way to remember my old hunting dog. Jake was the best hunting partner and companion. No one could have ever asked for a better bird dog. Obedient, loyal, smarter than smart. My wife has suggested that perhaps I have his remains cremated and put in one of those urns for pets, so that no matter where we might move in the future he could always be remembered. I’ve not yet found the exact kind of urn that I want for him. It’s gotta be the perfect thing. I know he was just a pet, but he was more of a friend and a part of the family. I feel like I’ve got to do right by Jake, and whatever I choose that even he might be happy with it.
