The grand piano was invented in around 1700 periods by Bartolomeo Cristofori, Italy. The strings were positioned horizontally in these antique grand pianos. Usually they have three legs and some have more. The first grand pianos have sets of tuned strings held by a wooden case with a soundboard underside. Grand pianos were made in a variety of shapes and finishes with different cabinet styles.

 

 The grand pianos mainly divided into three classes: Baby, Boudoir and Concert. These antique pianos range in size from 4 ½ feet to over 9 feet long. Baby grand pianos are comes in 5 feet long. Boudoir pianos range from 5-7 feet long. 9 feet long grand pianos are called Concert grand pianos. In terms of tone quality, Concert grand pianos are considered as the finest antique pianos.
