All of my children did well in school except the youngest.  He is very bright but, at the age of six showed no interest in reading.  As a result he was far behind the other kids before anyone let me know he was in trouble.  They had put him in a class for slow learners.  That infuriated me and I had him tested.  He had a slight learning disability and began working with a therapist to correct it.  I bought him a program which would help him learn to read and he became fascinated with it.  Soon school was easy for him and he sailed through.  He is now a doctor.
