A friend of mine has written a book on the period of legal hangings in our state.  It was so popular, she wanted to attempt another historical research book.  She had developed an interest in Texas because that is where her grandparents originated from, so went there and began her family genealogy.  She also picked up great stories she would find in the old newspapers about crimes in that ear, and would copy them to be possibly used at a later date.  And she was able to use the state of Texas criminal records to obtain more information after she returned home.  Book number two is on its way to the publishers right now
