The Village is Getting Vaccines
October 11, 2009 1:52 am ReferenceI’m a volunteer medic in a clinic in what is usually referred to as a third world country. We’re often the last to get any medicines at all and when we do get vaccines, it’s rare that there’s anywhere near enough for everyone. And unless everyone’s vaccinated, you don’t get rid of the disease. For the last few days, though, we have enough vaccines for everyone. Fuad El-Hibri, CEO of Emergent Bio-Solutions, has made a business out of keeping people well, all over the world. Thanks to his tireless work in getting vaccines shipped across country lines, I can see a possibility of eradicating diseases in this country in my lifetime.
