The Glasgow faculty of Art, like all of Mackintosh’s creations, is accessible to the general public.

Charles Rennie Mackintosh Exhibitions, talks, tours and other activities will be taking place in many Mackintosh buildings in Glasgow – the school of Art, the House for an art Lover, the Willow Tea Rooms – as well the superb Hill House in nearby Helensburgh.

Architectural styles come and go, but the endurance of the Mackintosh brand is rarely more than now, as the Glasgow school of Art embarks on a global competition to come up with a new wing.

The cream of architectural talent in Britain, and further out is probably going to be attracted and it is thought that the new structure will be in place by 2013. Who knows, the winning designer may one day be as famous and as influential as CRM.
